Informatics and Computer Graphics

The chair was founded on July, 25, 2005. From the date of its organization the chair is headed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Shadimetov Kholmatvoy Mahkamboevich.

ShodimetovH.M. is a member of the Academic Council of the Institute, as well as the specialized council on the specialty “Computational Mathematics” at the National University named after Ulugbek. He has participated in work of international schools, organized in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, Ulan-Ude.

The international relations of Kh.M. Shadimetov are expanding. He conducts research in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences of Serbia GV Milanovic, professor of Novosibirsk Institute of Mathematics of Sobolev  L. Vaskevich, with Prof. M.D. Ramazanov of the Computing Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor M.V. Noskov from the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Technology.

Their joint work aimed at solving problems of modern computational mathematics, are published in mathematical journals in Russia, Serbia, the Netherlands and the United States. Shodimetov Kh.M. constantly headed the first stage and the republican stage of school Olympics. He heads the Republican seminar “Modern Problems of Computational Mathematics and Numbers Theory” held weekly at the Mathematics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, at the same time he is a member of the Academic Council of the Institute of Mathematics and Head of the Laboratory of “Calculation Methods “.

As the head of the chair he is working on strengthening the academic, logistical and laboratory facilities of the chair. He pays great attention to modern teaching methods and introduction of computer graphics in the teaching process. At present 8 classrooms are converted into computer labs and 3 multi-media classrooms are organized at the chair.

Basic subjects of the chair are “Informatics and Computer Technologies”, “Discrete Mathematics”, and “Calculation methods and Programming”.

At all faculties of the Institute lectures, practical and laboratory classes are conducted, for which at the chair there are prepared guidelines, textbooks, manuals, texts of lectures and online tutorials of the required quantity. Teaching staff of the chair provides much research work in the disciplines of “Descriptive geometry and computer graphics”, “Computational Mathematics and Computer Science.”

According to the approved prospect plan, from the day of the organization of the chair members of the chair undergo skills improvement courses. In the future, we are going to transfer from traditional teaching methods to new modern teaching methods.
