The oldest Department in the Institute is “Economics and management”. It was organized in December 1941, During its existence it was headed by Professor E. D. Hanukkah, VN. Orlov, M. N. Belenky, I. S. ravitch, honored Professor of the Tashkent railway transport engineering Institute G. P. a Bagel. Currently the Department is headed by associate Professor A. I. Ismailaga.
For 68 years of existence of the Department repeatedly changed its name. It was originally called ” transport Economics “and it was also called” transport Economics and organization”,” transport Economics and management”,” transport Economics and management “and now”Economics and management”.
In 1959, the first admission of students to the specialty “Economics and organization of railway transport”was made in Tashiit. Since this period, the Department is graduating. Till 1999 at Department engineers-economists on economy and management on railway transport, on mathematical support of the computer, on the organization and planning of material and technical supply prepared.
During the years of independence of Uzbekistan the Department has started training of bachelors and masters. At present the Department trains bachelors on directions “Economy”, “Management” and masters in “Economics of industry”.
Over the past period, the Department has trained more than 4,000 engineers, economists, 2000 bachelors and 170 masters.
Teachers of the Department conduct classes at all faculties of the Institute. To do this, they are constantly developing the necessary teaching materials.
Preparation of educational and training work plans for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs is carried out. The working curricula include disciplines that allow training specialists for railway transport. Teachers of the Department conduct classes in such disciplines as “economic geography and Economics of natural resources”, “national economy and strategic planning”,” fundamentals of foreign economic activity”, “Rationing, organization and planning of labor”, “Economics and sociology of labor”, “Economics of tourism”, “Economics of railway transport”, “Economics of railway transport”, “Marketing of transport enterprises”, “Management”, “logistics and marketing of transport enterprises”, ” Strategic, innovative, administrative, international management», “Marketing”, “Main problems of railway transport economy”, “management of enterprises and foreign experience of railway transport management”, etc.
For bachelors and masters of technical directions and specialties, teachers of the Department conduct such disciplines as “industry Economics”, “transport Economics”, “Main problems of railway transport”, “Foreign experience of railway transport management”.
Work at the Department was associated with improving the quality of training, which was built on various sections.
In accordance with the instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, the Department of Economics and management has developed a training Program for middle managers of transport and communications sectors of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the subject of “Goals and objectives of reforming industrial relations at the present stage of development of market relations in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the texts of lectures on this topic and on-site training was conducted with the certification of 189 heads of the sectors of transport And communications of Bukhara, Khorezm regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Significant work was carried out by the Department on the development of curricula, questionnaires and handouts to prepare for the certification of senior and middle managers AS well as “Uzbekistan Temir Yullari” and SE “Uzzheldorpass”, as well as employees of economic and financial departments and other specialists of the railway company on the market economy.
A draft training Program for senior and middle managers of the construction Complex, PSM, transport and communications of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on management methods in market conditions has been prepared.
To date, the Department has 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 3 senior teachers and 7 assistants.
